“No chance at all…”

More and more each day, I realize the importance of the Word. Some days, a passage I read may go right over my head, but other days I read, and feel God is like “You need to hear this today, you’re welcome.”

Something that has been called to my attention, is that sometimes we can read a verse or passage one day, and not need it. But then another day the verses that didn’t seem so applicable suddenly are. For example, the other day I was totally fearing and worrying about everything: “How is this going to work out, how do I work this out (fearful future thoughts)” When suddenly this verse popped into my head:

Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.” -Matthew 19:25-27

I relaxed, and remembered Who is in control.

It was out of nowhere. It was definitely God. To be honest, I don’t even remember when I read that verse, but I do know that I read it, thought it was cool, but didn’t put much thought to it after that. See? God totally uses every word you read in His book, to bring himself glory, and to bring us back to Him. Maybe we will read something today that doesn’t stick out to us, but tomorrow we will need those words.

He is cool, yea? He is really all we need. Here’s my cover of Bethany Dillon’s song “All I Need”
